There’s an excellent hiking trail that crosses just south of the runway. 
The trailhead and car parking are located on Montgomery Street, just down Route 12B.  The trail goes for 8 miles along the
www.chenangocanal.org/Chenango Canal Towpath Trail  north past Bouckville and across Route 20. 
There’s a branch that goes south to College Avenue in the village.
